Robert Land Academy

Robert Land Academy (December 2024 – February 2025)

Robert Land Academy was a private, military-style boarding school for boys located in West Lincoln, Ontario, founded in 1978. In 2024, the school faced mounting pressure from multiple civil lawsuits filed by former students alleging physical, psychological, and sexual abuse.

The Robert Land Academy temporarily closed the boarding school early in the 2024–25 school year due to specific threats and concerns for the safety and well-being of staff members and students. The Board of Directors, led by Chair Tim Hudak, sought out a private investigation/security firm to assist them in identifying the actual threat level, conduct a private investigation as needed, and provide the Board with recommendations on how best to re-open the school for the remainder of the school year in a safe, secure, and defensible manner that was consistent with industry standards and demonstrated due diligence.
